If you have past campaigns and advertising history for that ASIN, Perpetua.io will extract the data automatically from those past history and use them in the new campaigns. At the same time, it will automatically pause any old active campaigns for that ASIN to prevent cannibalizations.

Note: A word of caution though, while this AI-engine is powerful, it cannot give you results if you give an incredibly impossible target ACoS or daily budget.

So do not expect to input a 1% target ACoS with $5 daily budget and expect your products to start flying off the shelf. What this does in fact is that you are telling the AI-engine to lower your keyword bid to a point where you do not show up at all for searches.

Instead, keep it at a reasonable historical ACoS level. If your historical ACoS is about 60%, maybe give it about 40% as the initial target. As the weeks goes by, gradually decrease it by 3-5% as the AI-engine learns which keyword converts for your ASIN.

There are 3 types of targeting campaign and each of those have a different campaign structure. They are “Universal”, “Brand-based” and “Advanced” and the image below shows quite clearly what the engine does when you choose each of them.

Brand-based:

This type of targeting separates the branded and unbranded search terms and targets them separately. The unbranded targeting can be thought of like a universal targeting.

This works as the brand name related keyword bids are usually cheaper and thus, the allocated budget for branded targeting can be lower and the target ACoS can also be lower.

You will still want to get in enough budget for the Ad-engine to target your unbranded keywords as well.

Advanced:

In the advanced targeting campaign, this is perfect for ASINs with specific strategies to conquer known competitors and other stronger brand presence in the category. This is best for targeting strong competitors and take their market share in the additional competitor targeting segment.

It separates your Branded, Competitor and ASIN search terms in your search term report and calculate the realized ACoS + daily budget over the past 30 days to set initial targets.

Do note that competitor keywords and ASINs targeting are much more expensive and therefore, should expect higher ACoS than the branded and category segments.

Branded keywords: Adidas, Addidas etc.

Category keywords: Running shoes, womens shoes etc.

Competitor Keywords: Nike, New Balance etc.
